About The Club
Hello and welcome to Premier Taekwondo Mirfield. We are a satellite branch of Premier Taekwondo and a branch in Mirfield which are run by me, Master Javad (pictured to the right).
My club in Mirfield has been running since 2013 and I am very proud of my students. A number of them have achieved their black belts (and above) and are also competing in competitions.
At the beginning of 2019, I opened an additional class (Lil dragons) for age 4-6 years which has achieved so much interest. It’s great to see so many students starting so young. They are then able to transfer to the Taekwondo class to continue their development.
Hi, I’m Master Javad and I’ve been a part of the Premier family for a number of years now.
When did you start TKD?
I started TKD back in my home town of Anzali in Iran when I was 9 years old. It was a family affair as I started when I was 8 and then cousins, Moji and Mosy joined the club soon after. I have been practising the sport ever since.
What do you enjoy most about TKD?
Although I enjoy all aspects of TKD I primarily enjoy and focus on sparring and teaching at my class in Mirfield. I spend time teaching my students about the tactics they can use when competing in sparring competitions. I may not be able to kick the highest but I know when, where and how to kick, I try and impart that knowledge onto my students.
What are your achievements?
Every time I welcome a new student to my class or a student succeeds at gradings or competitions it means I am doing a good job! That is ultimately me succeeding as an instructor and mentor and something I am immensely proud of.
My personal journey with TKD has seen me through to the championship level for my weight category, for my country, at the age of 15. Competing and succeeding at the highest level is something I am extremely proud of.
